Due to the rising costs of producing high quality Coats saddles in San Angelo, Texas, Larry Coats was looking for a way to offer his quality saddles at a more affordable price. Upon visiting Yoakum, Texas (also know as the Leather Capital of the World) he discovered a possible way of pursuing his idea. This would allow him to use his own saddle tree design, his own pattern designs, the same high quality leather, as well as teaching his employees the way he likes a saddle to be made. In July 2005 Lazy “L” Saddles became an official factory. This allowed Larry to produce a line of high quality affordable trophy saddles as well as being able to wholesale them. They have been in such demand that Larry has spread his dealers all over the world including Australia, Canada, and several states in the US. He has also made trophy saddles for several organizations including the America Junior Rodeo Association, Central Texas Barrel Racing Association, California High School Rodeo Association, West Texas Rodeo Association, California Team Ropers Association, the Circle T Arena, Australia Barrel Racing (ABHA Dual Crown), and many more. Larry continues to work with his employees on improvements to the production line. He has kept the same 100% satisfaction guarantee as he has with his Coats saddles. Larry has been in the saddle making business for over 30 years.
